I have been asked to choose one of these dogs

A foster mommy is going on vacation so they asked if I would take one of her dogs. Here are their petfinder pages:

And some added notes from the foster mommy:

    1. Sam: 2-3 yr old neutered male - bassett/lab (yellow). He looks like a lab on really short legs. Very nice boy - low key. Totally housetrained, crates well. Doesnt bark much. Doesn't seem to care for kittens (almost scared of them). He does fine w/the other dogs here at my house. He doesn't seem to like my male lab, but has doesn't have a problem with anyother male or female dog here. They don't fight or anything.. but sam will growl at him once in awhile.

Sam was an only child, his previous owner was put into a nursing home and the family either couldn't or wouldn't take Sam.

    2. Emma May (Flash): 8 month old hound mix. She is a sweet sweet puppy. She was using my dog door regularly, but I still wouldn't trust her 100% on the housetraining. But I hadn't seen any "mistakes" in 4 or 5 days. She does NOT sound like a hound, just a reg kind of bark. She is totally submissive. Loves all the other dogs, always wants to play.

I am leaning towards Sam, but I will meet them both on Saturday and decide then. Emma May might be a better match with my dogs, possibly.

I would go with Sam since he is older, and potty trained
boy he sure does look like a lab except for those legs, what a cutie

and one other reasonf or picking Sam, is it sounds like he is more mellow, and this would be a good opportunity to see how well a third dog as a foster would work since it would for a few weeks
