I helped out a dog

a few weeks ago, in the local store, some guy was saying his old dog had liver disease and wasn't doing very well.
I suggested milk thistle to him and gave him a quick Sadie dawg story.
Never gave it another thought but this morning the guy saw me, shook my hand and said thank you from him and his dog
he went out and got milk thistle that day and after his dog had been on it for a month had another liver count done and his dog's counts have started to drop!!!!

What is the reccomended dosage? Is it weight based?
I would like to know more about herbal meds in general. Does anyone have a good website???

the liver has the ability to regenerate on its own...milk thistle helps. I've read that it is advised for people too especially heavy alcohol users.
I'll see if I can find info.
