I helped save a puppy.

Hey everyone. I have a wonderful story. My friends kids brought a puppy home the other day. She knew who he belonged to but when she tried to return him, they said they didn't want him because he pottied in the house. This baby is about 9 or 10 weeks old. Boy they really tried hard(sarcasim here) had him a whole two weeks and couldn't train him. She called me and I brought him home. I contacted the rescue group I got Parker and Danni from and they wanted him. I just took him to them today. He will be neutered and vetted then go up for adoption. He is the cutest thing and has been so good in my home. Whomever gets him will be very lucky. Just makes me so darn mad that someone would just throw him out on the steet. Scroll all the way to the bottom almost on the third page. Look for Parker Jr. That is my daughter on the right. I am so happy he will be able to go into a good home.

what a wonderful foster care community you have. Are you in Ohio? Here's the pic of Parker Jr. and your beautiful daughter. It's a good thing I'm in Florida, 'cause I'd be tempted to adopt so many of them that are so in need of "forever" homes..(My hubby is relieved, too!!)

 

U have sucha big heart Mix breed lover. He is such a cute dog too and people like that shouldn't have dogs anyways

 

Thank you pekemom. That was so sweet of you to post the picture. I still haven't figured out how to do it. Yes they are a wonderful group of people. I live about 2 1/2 hours away from them. I wish I was closer so I could foster for them. It was very hard to give him up but I can't afford another one. They have many wonderful dogs. I like the fact that they really care. If they hadn't taken him I don't know what I would have done. We are in Ohio. They are up near Toledo. Anyone out there in Ohio looking for a dog. Adopt from Planned Pethood! Thanks again.

Thats wonderful Mixedbreedlover! He is such a doll. His previous owners did'nt deserve him anyway! I can't stand idiots that think that puppies come trained already and they just can't deal with them if it involves any work on their part. :x

I just found out the puppy has Parvo :cry: . He is being treated and hopefully he'll make it. I feel so bad for the little baby. He has been through so much already. Please pray for him. Also does anyone know how long it takes to cure Parvo? Is it very grueling? I wish there was something I could do for him. I miss my baby.

 

So sorry to hear that, MBL. Please let us know how he's doing. I don't know much about the disease, other than the shots...sorry.

 

Depending on how soon you caught the parvo, and what stage it was at will all depend on the outcome. Most healthy vibrant pups, that the parvo is caught and treated in its earliest stages before the symptoms start to flare, have a good chance of amking it.
Most dogs unfortunately do not have a chance.
Parvo is VERY deadly, and having dealt with it several times, I know the devistation. COnstant fluids, the hight energy/fat/protien paste you can buy will really help.

How is the little guy doing? So sorry to hear about the parvo and I hope he makes a full recovery. The most important thing once he is rid of it is cleaning everything so he doesnt get it again. There is alot of info on here and the web on treatment and post treatment.

 

It so sad to hear that the little guy has parvo. I hope he recovers.

 

I'm not sure how he is doing. I live about three hours away from the rescue group. They have him at a vet clinic. Last I knew he was okay. I haven't heard from them in a couple days. I hope that isn't a bad sign. I'm going to email them again and I'll let you all know.

 

Parker Jr. died. He passed last night. I am feeling so angry and utterly sad. I think I have lost all trust in mankind. I am defeated.

 

No your not. You showed that little guy, love, affection and care. Thats more than he probably ever knew.

Your wonderful for helping him. Just remember that.

 

I tried to help him. I wanted him to find a good home where he was loved and cherished and now he is gone. What really hurts is that he died alone in a vet clinic. He was probably wondering why I abandoned him. I was the only one ever to show him love in his short life. Oh why do these things happen? I can hardly bear it. My heart is broken.

 

I'm so sorry Mixedbreedlover. Please try not to feel guilty....you did what you could for this little guy and its alot more than many others would have done. {{Hugs}}
