Poor baby - he's okay now though!

I was making garlic scape pesto for dinner, and Artemis, as usual was lying on the kitchen floor at my feet. After I scooped the pesto from the blender into a bowl I turn around and started talking to Artemis. I saw there was some food on my shirt (as usual) so I brushed it off. Unfortunately the food was minced garlic and, unfortunately again, Artemis happened to be looking up at me at the time. The garlic piece went right into his eye! I was able to grab him and wipe his eye with a wet cloth, but the poor boy's eye was just watering. He got lots of treats and kisses and now he looks fine. I imagine it must have stung like crazy though!

Doesn't it just kill you when you accidently hurt your kitty?

AWWW! poor baby! Glad he's ok tho. Don't feel too bad, last week i was leaving my room and i was goin to shut the door behind me and Vianne was still in the room but sitting behind the door and she stuck her paw in the door crack by the hinges just as i was closing it and i hear this ear splitting scream and a hiss! I felt soooo bad! But she stays away from the door now! lol

Ditto what Faeriedust said. I did the same with Rene except it was with her tail. When we first got Milo and he was just 2 months old, I dropped an empty box on top of him by accident. I had no idea he was next to me until I heard this little meow. Fortunately, he was not hurt, at least it was not lethal. Phew! Where did you get your garlic scape and what's the recipe for the pesto? I love to cook and prepare foods.

I chopped up the scapes (which were bought at a farmer's market this weekend) and threw them in the blender with some olive oil. When they were pureed, just add some parmesan or asiago to your liking and serve on pasta. They were delicious! Except I think I smell terrible right now, but at least my husband ate some too. I love making pesto with basil, parsley or spinach, but this is the first time I've used scapes and it was awesome.

BTW - Artemis' eye is completely fine now!

my son, an aspiring chef, likes to make pesto too. He has me buy up a bunch of fresh herbs and he plays around with the mixture. Personally I don't like it...but I'm really fussy.

I glad everybody's kitties are okay.

A couple of weeks ago I stepped on Sock's tail. She let out a loud yowl. I felt so bad. I picked her up right away and comforted her and checked her tail and it seemed okay.

Our poor kitties seem to get in bad predicaments sometimes.

I hope Artemis is doing better. I'm sure he knows it was a mistake! It sounds like we've all done something like that. I'm glad all our kitties are forgiving! They know we never mean to harm them.
