I know it's a bit early to ask this

but it'll get everyone thinking

anyone interested in doing a Christmas card swap? I wasn't on this site last year so maybe it's a yearly thing already...but if not anyone interested?

 

Like send cards out to each other? Sure.

snail mail cards...someone can gather names/addresses/emails then compile a list and email the list to all those that want to participate. I do this on another cat board and I get lots of xmas cards and it's really fun. My family is always impressed by the number of cards I get - I love it

People can email their info to one person, set a deadline to get the info to this person (who volunteers of course), the person who volunteers to do this list then emails the list out to the participants. Those who are on the list not only receive but send (well that would make sense otherwise no one would get cards).

Make up a list in Word or something. I take my list from the other board and set up a database then print out labels for my cards so I don't have to do all the writing.

 

Sounds like a good idea.

It would be really fun if we sent actual cards with kitty pictures inside like people do with their children and families.

Heck, my cats have given my husband many cards all by themselves. They signed it and everything! (I helped just a little, but don't all parents help their kids with such things?)

But, I can't see that happening since people would probably we leary of giving out their actual address over the internet! So, I guess e-cards could be a way to go.

What ideas did you have Mary_NH?

EDIT: Mary, you posted again before mine was put up - whoops. I love the idea of snail mail cards if we could do it that way. I like hanging cards all over my house during the holidays.

 

on the privacy side...if you have one person having control over the addresses and only people who are willing to send/receive cards get the addresses it's pretty safe. Only participants will have access to other people's addresses. Like mine for instance is a post office box in a town I don't even live in - so I never worry. My town is so small we don't have a post office
