I need some advice

Ok i need some advice. We have two parakeets. When we bought our frist in June of this year we wanted to get a female. Will it truns out that she is actually a male. SO the other day my husband went out and got another one and they told him that it is a male. We put them together in one cage and the one that we had before his name is snowflake he started to what i looked like cleaning the other one. I guess my question would be how can you tell if we have both males and hopefully not one of each. I heard that if the color on around their beak is blue it's a male. They are doing good together and getting along. I just want to make sure that way i don't end up with eggs.
Please i need some advice. :?:

 

Males will have a bright blue cere unless it is a young bird and then this will be a purple colour.
Females will have a pinky/purple, white, tan, or very dark brown cere.

It is normal for 2 birds of the same sex to preen each other this shows they trust each other.

Thank you so much for the help. When we got our new one that we call smerf cause he's all blue. The lady at the pet store scared me alittle by saying that she wasn't sure the sex. But he has blue on his nose. But thank you so much.
