I was wondering how many white cloud minows I could put in a 55 gallon tank

    Thanks for your help

Umm.... if you're talking about having ONLY white clouds in there... wow, a lot. It really depends on what other types of fish you have in the tank, and how many of each as well. They do like to be in schools, so if you plan on adding them, get at least 6.

My unofficial (and probably incorrect) guess, assuming white clouds ONLY in the tank, would be about 50, but once you get up to that number of fish.... I'd wait to see what chelle has to say.

I'd actually say about 30 tops assuming they where the only thing in the tank.

I'm not sure about the all time smallest fish, but probably the smallest freshwater fish commonly available would be neons or pygmy cories. Each only get about 1". I think bumble bee gobies are even smaller than that but they're brackish.

Least Killifish is the smallest aquarium fish to my knowledge. Its scientific name is Heterandria Formosa. The male gets to be around 2cm long and the female gets to be 3.5cm long. They are also supposed to be fairly easy to breed. They are also live-bearing fish. They look pretty cool to me.

    1 inch = 2.54 centimeters

Sounds like the killifish is about the same size as neons. I've never heard of them, so I might have to do some quick research.

No, they are smaller than neons. Neons can reach four cms in length. I believe the Lest Killifish is the smallest aquarium fish you can get. I dont know how hard they are to find however. Correct me if I am wrong about them being the smallest aquarium fish available.

Killifish are fairly exacting on water conditions and even when optimum conditions are maintained they only live about two years.
