On July 2 while unpacking, I dropped an AC Adapter on my foot, about an inch above my toes. It hurt when it hit but then felt ok, sore but ok. I figured I brused myself.

NO brusing or swelling occurred. But a few days later I found that it ached if I walked too much. Day after day, the acheing got worse the shorter time I spent on my feet. Booger started realy following me about the house. I think she sensed something was wrong.

Yesterday, the ache turned into a sharp pain when I try to walk after being on my feet for a while with mild swelling/no bruising. I really think I cracked a bone.

CRAP. This is so inconvient and I literally HATE going to any Doctor. I have it wrapped with an ace bandage and I think that's about all a Dr will do for it and I know I need to stay off it. But that's hard since we're in the middle of a move and stuff needs to be done. I think they'll just wrap it and crutch me and advise me to stay off it.

I hate to go to the Dr just to be told what I already know

Poor Cassie. *HUGS* You really should have your toe/s checked out. In most cases with broken toes, doctors or PA's will just bandage it and give you some pain pills. In some cases, you may have a chipped bone that may need to be removed or it will cause you problems for the rest of your life. It's rare, but does happen. X-rays don't cost that much and will give you a peace of mind. If the crack is mid foot and depending on the break, it may need rodding (rare again). Sometimes, bones that break easily may be indicative of other disease process going on in a body. (not saying that it's happening to you). I'm just trying to get you go have your foot checked out. Good luck and let us know how your foot is doing. BTW, it's too bad the ghost in your house wasn't able to catch the adaptor before it fell on your foot.

That must have hurt. It is funny how kitties do seem to sense when something is wrong. I notice that with my cats, too.

I understand about the doctor thing. I hate to go to doctors, too, but sometimes it is necessary. Sounds like you are stressing over your injury. It may be good to go to a doctor (even though you expect him to tell you what you already know) just to give yourself peace of mind. You don't want to be kicking yourself later for something that might be too late to fix then.

    Good luck.

Poor Cassie! I'm sure you'll get one of those spiffy velcro boot shoes. I have three myself. I have chronic foot pain that surgery didn't really help, so I feel for you. But if it's a cracked bone, it can heal! Go get it checked out for at least peace of mind. My cats were very concerned and attentive after my foot surgerys. The dogs didn't really care though.

back in the old days  I broke all 5 of my toes on my left foot plus the bone running along the side of my foot. I was running up the stairs wearing a long bathroom (and the 6 pack I'd consumed didn't help matters at all.....one reason why I don't drink anymore). Anyway got my foot caught in my bathrobe hem, tripped and my left foot smashed back down a few stairs. Only advantage to the beer was it was a day before I felt it LOL
couldn't do much. My work place made me go to the hospital cause my foot was so swollen I couldn't get my shoe on. Put a cast on which I had to remove cause my 5 broken toes turned black.
Ice - lots of ice for the swelling. And try to keep your foot up as much as possible. You need to try to stay off it. Know you're busy but your foot is important

Well, hubby is on the road right now so I have to wait till Thursday or Friday to go to a clinic. In the mean time, I'm going to stay off my feet as much as possible. I think I chipped a bone because when I flex my toes (painful), I 'feel' a crunching in the bones in the middle of my foot where the adapter fell on.

Every time I get up to do something, Booger literally gets under foot and walks slowly with me, rubbing my legs.. It's funny how they sense these things. It's like she's saying "I'm here with you mommy, everything will be ok'.

I'd be in pain too if I were wearing a long bathroom
Sorry...I had to. Don't hate me.

But you should probably get it checked out. I hate doctors too, but unfortunately its for the better. They'll probably take some x-rays, wrap it up, and give some pills for pain if its not that bad. I doubt it's bad if you can walk on it. But if you leave it, there might be worse affects along the way.
