I think the boys will be on Animal Planet

As planned, a film crew from Animal Planet showed up at the Millie Bush Bark Park yesterday morning to do a story on the park. I got there about 7:30 and met the crew while they were talking to the park manager. We briefly discussed the design and planning that went into developing the facility. Having a discussion with Duke and Freckles on leashes and within sight of the entrance to the park was not real easy as they wanted to go play but I managed to hold them until the crew set up for their first segment showing people and dogs entering. I always release the boys in the enclosure between the double gates so they are free to meet any unleashed dogs as soon as they clear the second gate. I did put a red bandana on Duke so you will be able to spot him. Freckles stands out on his own. Once they said to come in the boys bolted through and headed for one of the lakes.
After they shot a minute or two at the gate we all started to relocate toward one of the lakes. The production manager decided that they should first shoot the interview with the park manager before everyone got too hot and sweaty. Even at 7:30 it was hot and the humidity must have been near 100%.
The crew set up with a lake in the background for that interview and the boys were already in the lake so they continued to romp in and out of the water. There was a great crowd as usual because everyone either goes to the park real early or real late to avoid the mid day heat.
I believe the story will run during the Animal Planet coverage of the Houston Ekanuba Tournament of Champions show on October 1st.
I'll post a reminder later so if anyone sees the show they can try to spot the boys.

Thats great...... :D So will it be part of the dog show? Just wondering because I dont get animal planet in Germany but they show a lot of the big dog shows on German TV, I wont know what anyone is talking about most likely but it would be cool to see Duke and Freckles.

This show will be on Animal Planet but I don't know if it will be picked up and rebroadcast in Germany. The story on the dog park will be shown sometimes during the coverqge of the dog show.

    coppersmom,
You'll have to look quick when they enter the park as they bust through the gate like a bulls out of the chute. You will probably be able to spot them later in the background scenes around the lake. Duke swaggers around like John Wayne but Freckles trots around in a more formal manner like he doesn't want to get his feet dirty (until he finds a mud hole). You can always spot Freckles by his color and tail. No other brown and white dog at the park has a tail (mainly Springers and Brittanys) and Duke is sporting red bandana.
I try to find out the exact date the feature will run and post a reminder. I believe it will run around Oct. 1st during the next Houston dog show.
