[/b] Hi today i bought a beautiful lilac point siamese female kitten. she is gorgeous and i have already fallen madly in love with her!! the only problem is i have a 2 year old chocolate point boy siamese and he fell in love with my sister and he cringes everytime i cuddle him. thats why i hav got a new kitten. we are collecting her in 4 weeks time. and now if she doesnt like me again i will be so gutted because i dont know what i do wrong. i hav such an honest feeling of love for them deep down in my heart but they dont like me. what can i do?!! any ideas?? and not anything simple like 'dont be noisy and stomp around them' because i dont do that!! thanx for ur help xxx

    aww sweetie.. them things happen...

Something i heard once, and it's proven true time and time again... Now matter what your intentions,

"You dont choose a cat, the cat chooses you."

i can understand how u feel... but there's nothing u can really DO per say that will sway her one way or another.

Just be yourself, love her unconditionally, dicipline her when needed (gently), and play with her as much as you can. Try not to smother her with good intentions tho. Cats are free spirits...

Lex is actually my husbands cat.. but u would never know it. He very much prefers me, and allows me to do things to him that he would never let my hubby do.

Good luck with your kitten, and before vene says it, lots of pictures please! ;)

siamese cats are known for developing strong bonds with one person...I have 2 and my Missy would follow me to the ends of the earth and back. If I slept in the bathtub she would sleep with me. It's probably nothing to do with you at all...but something about your sister the cat just prefers. Many meezers sometimes take the men quicker than women, children quicker than adults - they are extremely intelligent cats (which I'm sure you know since you just got #2) and they know what they want in life and will stop at nothing to get it including the person of their choice. You can't force anything to love you :) not matter how hard you try. And I find that with siamese cats the harder you try the less responsive they tend to be - just be yourself.

Don't push the kitten either. What you'll need to do is become the primary source of food and litterbox scooper person. Tend to all of the kitten's needs...when she cries be there, when she wants to play be there, fed be there....and on and on.

Developing a strong bond with your new kitten means becoming mommy. I have a 10 yr. old foster right now that was an owner giveup and she won't eat. Her owner had to go into a nursing home and this poor siamese is grieving greatly and just won't eat so she is being force fed. It's sad seeing her....she must have had a strong bond with her owner.

Good luck and also check out siamese internet cat club - lots there for meezer folks.

Mary> alittle off topic here, but i just had a thought.... did u get anything of Dora's old owners?? anything with her smell on it to place in with Dora? near her food bowl or anything?

    that truly might help!

yup... I agree with all the suggestions above. Always be the one who gives her relief. Whether it be from a lonely night, a scary room, or just some food and water.
