Identifying a pleco type

I've checked out a bunch of sites and I can't quite figure out my pleco #... its head is all swirly like a fingerprint pattern (like the full-body pattern of a queen arabesque), and the rest of its body is striped and colored somewhat like a tiger pleco. Any ideas?

Also, do the numbers after the L mean a different species or just a variation? I guess what I mean is, though I'm not looking to breed anything anytime soon... could you breed an L-2 with an L-27, etc.?

Actually same with dalmation and standard mollies. I notice the latin names are exactly the same... any ideas?

 

when Guppies were first discovered, they were named after the founder, unfortunatly all these different streams of Guppies appeared by several different founders. when they were given their latin name, after the founder, two names for them were used, but its meant to be only one latin name for all the guppies i believe. For the mollies, i guess it must be the same, perhaps the founder discovered them two strains of Mollies.
(or the shop is wierd?)

in terms of plecco's................. i cdnt find anything, but rembering the clown plec, do the stripes on your plec go vertically like the clown plec, or vertically?
