Just finished putting up a brief slide show of some of the damage we sustained from Frances & pics of the dogs enjoying themselves after being released from their 4 day confinement at the shelter. Just in case you'd like a peek, here's the url

On a funny note, we have a matching "skylight" in the garage to match the one in the living room. Gee, I never thought about putting skylights in just those places!

Well, we need an entire new roof, new insulation, new ceilings in ever room, all new a/c duct work, all new exterior siding, new carpeting (can't do anything right now about the chipped tile), my 56" tv is a gonner (seems wet sheet rock mixed with rain water isn't good for them), new sofa, love seat, new coffee table, area rugs (which cost me over $600.00 a year ago), new tile in the master bath (on the garage wall), new sheet rock inside the garage on the south side, the shed and contents are gonners, the porch will have to be rescreened and a new door installed for it, front door split in half, front window knocked lose, repairs and paint for hubby's car from someone's shed landing on it, and the wiring for the house is "hinky" but we're safe and whole!

The problem with the skylights (matching one in garage) is the placement, just not QUITE centered~grin.

Poor Beau, not an upright tree to water, he's just beside himslef!
Here are some (not very clear, but the best I could do at night) pics of the crew inspecting the back yard after being freed from being trapped in the shelter with us for 4 days...

My heart goes out to you and all those who have had to endure so much lately. Thank God everyone in your family came out safe. It looks like the furbabies are happy to be home regardless of the shape it's in. Good luck with the restoration and God Bless.

They are more happy to be home than you can imagine! I was so worried about the heat, going 10 days without a/c in 95+ temps was not a good thing for them, but they made "do" by excavating the yard and lying in nice deep, wet holes. I was sorely tempted to join them~grin. In fact, we have to all remember to keep a sense of humor about that which we can laugh at. Like the skylights in my living room and gfarage. I LIKE skylights, but just had never thought to put them in quite those areas~

    Will insurance cover all that??

Well, as of now, I have NO idea of what my ins will or won't cover. If you go by my policy, they SHOULD cover all but the 1,700.00 deductable. What SHOULD be and what REALLY happens are usually worlds apart. Interestingly enough, we've got rain and the 5' wide strip (front to back of the roof) NOT covered by the tarp (couldn't find any larger) is now leaking. Add to that, Lisa is now a hurricane and seems destined to do what Jeanne and Karl didn't, come for a visit.....ah, maaaaannnnnn

Oh man.... on a lighter note, looks like you have lots of firewood!!! Not that you'd need it....

I have my INS licence and sell it down here, (through my company) and what you've done is greatly helped yourself by taking all those photos. One more photo that would help is one from a ways away overviewing the entire area.

They should cover most everything. Depends on what kind of policy you have though and wether or not flood and high winds coverage. All policies cover SAD, sudden accidental damage. Which technically hurricanes fit that too....

Glad to see that everyoneis ok though. Sure some physical momentos are ruined, but that can all be replaced, you and those doggies can not!!!

As it just happens, we do have several area shots, including the street sign from about a half mile away that way sitting on the ground across the street from us, along with that unidentified shed on the cars...I still think someone must REALLY be hunting that thing! We have structure, contents and support outbuildings. Sad thing is I keep low a deductable as a rule (only $500.00), but this is going to go under the hurricane coverage, with $1,700.00 deduct (no choice on that one!). Ah, well...such is life!
