In need of some help/advice

I am hoping someone can give me a little advice or forward me in the right direction. A neighbor of mine's boyfriend has a beautiful, wonderful male (intact) pitbull named Face. He is around 3 yrs old and has fathered 3 litters now. Well his owner has moved to a new home and cannot take Face with him so he is in the process of trying to find him a new home. Of course he knows of my love for animals (especially pits) and asked me if I could help him find a home (I wish I could take him myself but it is just not an option). Anyways, my fear of him ending up in the wrong home (either for fighting or as an asset to a BYB) has got me in a panic and I am trying to do whatever I can to find him a home. I am stuck with no resources around here (I live in Ohio), we have no rescues and are APL's don't have room. The owner told me yesterday that he is asking for $250 for him due to the fact that he is still good for another 4 litters or so (UGH!).
Does anyone have any insight? Another forum I post to suggested PBRC but I am afraid that will take to long and time is of the essence.

this don't make sence......and he had the dog for 3 yrs.....sounds to me he wants the money more than he want the dog to actually have a good home.....but hay that is my oppion!![/quote]

Unfortunately that is how it is with most breeders. He can't have the dog anymore and unfortunately he knows he can get some good money for an intact male pit. IT is sad but true.

Where does this form of logic come from?

I wish I could tell you, I think people that breed their dogs like that have a WHOLE different form of thinking.
But honestly, I am willing to give up $250 if I knew that Face was going to a good home.
