I have 2 wonderful cats (2 and 3 years old). We get along great and the cats love each other, cuddle, play, cuddle with me. I have been considering getting a small dog, but not sure how it will effect the cats. I know they will get accustomed after a while, but will they no longer cuddle with me if the dog does, be jealous that the dog goes out and they don't, don't feel as free in the house to run around and play??? Any help would be great, thanks.

    they will adjust fine

I have 10 Min Pins, 1 IG and 13 cats. The dogs and cats have been introduced at different times over the years and they have all learned to share my lap with 1 dog and 2 or 3 cats or visa versa. I would not worry.
    Just give it time...and patience.

Hi and welcome to Auspet. :D There are a lot of others here who have both cats and dogs in their homes. They should be able to give you some good tips. My only recommendation would be to get a cat tree for the cats, so they can climb up it should they need to get away from the dog.

:m23: and welcome! I've never taken care of dogs before but I've heard that they love kitty litter treats so I would recommend getting a dog proof kitty litter like a top entry type.
