Is an eye infection contagious for cats?

I had to go to the ER today because of a bad eye infection (which really s-u-c-k-s! :( ) and now I'm worried Kyrre might get it. Does anyone know if cats can catch human infections like this??

    Thanks

Since humans can catch them from cats, I would assume that cats can also catch them from humans. Just be sure to wash your hands when ever you touch your eyes.

I'm so sorry about your eye infection. I agree, frequent hand washing is the key and try not to touch your eyes. I hope you feel better soon! :love_y_t_much:

I should have said wash your hands every time you touch your face, and even if you don't touch your face. wash your hands often. But I think you get the drift.

I will not only help you from spreading it to Kyrre or others that you come in contact with, it'll help you heal faster.

How's the infection going? Away I hope...I know eye infections can be miserable.

    Hugs from me and Booger

    Thank's guys :)

I've been a good girl and taken my eyedrops and washed my hands, so I'm recovering now. At least from the eye infection, I also has a bad cold and that's not exatctly helping... I was afraid I might had given the infection to Kyrre before I was aware I had it, but he doesn't seem to have caught it. :D Hes going to the vet on Tuesday anyway (id chipping and shots), so I'll ask about it then.

Bente, besides drinking lots of fluids, eat chicken noodle soup, and fruits like oranges with lots of vitamin c. Good luck on your vet appointment Kyrre!

I always worry about that, because I get eye infections(not serious ones, but extra runny teary eyes and stuff) occsionally and it always seems Dale gets them at the same time so I will go to the doctor and take her to the vet and they always say it isnot related and then I tell them but what about my cat having it or vice versa and they say I am just getting paranoid! It bugs me!
