Is inguinal hernia common in puppies?

    Hello,
I am getting a Boston Terrier puppy in about 3 weeks and when the puppy went for his first vet visit, they found that he has a small inguinal hernia. The breeder said it will take 2 stitches to fix the hernia and asked if I would like to get him neutered when they stitch the hernia. I agreed to have him neutered and asked if the hernia will be a lingering issue or is it fixed for good when they fix the hernia. I was told that the hernia will be fixed for good and he will show no signs or the hernia or will not limit his mobility in any way. This is my first puppy and just want to get some other inputs.
    Thank you

umblicial is pretty common in large breeds. Abdominal and other hernia's typically if they aren't from an injury then they are most likely a genetic issue. IF the breeder is fixing it, then you shouldn't have anything to worry about, especially if neutering as well.
