Is kitten food high in protein?

Hi! I know this isn't directly cat related, but I think y'all are more likely to know this than people in the small animals forum. I was wanting to make sure, kitten food is relatively high in protein, correct? I have a short tailed opossum that just had babies, so she is supposed to have a lot of protein. I supplement it in other ways as well, but I was wondering if it would be easier to just give her kitten food and not have to supplement as often. Thanks!

The cat food I use (Wellness) is approx. 13% protein. (link). Iams kitten food has approx. 14.5% protein (link).

I guess you'd have to compare what you're giving her now to the information above to find out if the kitten food has more. Hope that helped a bit!

Yes, most kitten foods are high in protein in comparison with adult cat formulas or puppy formulas.
There are a few canned foods that all or mostly meat such as Nature's Variety and the Wysong all meat formulas. One of these might be more suitable.

Awesome, thanks! I have her on Iams kitten food right now, just due to cost since I will still have to feed it to the babies when they get older.
