Is my bird choking?

I'm not sure what my cockatiel is doing, I noticed she did it once yesterday, she opens her beak, stretches her neck up and shakes her head with her beak open. It doesn't look like she's regurgitating, at least not compared to budgies. Is she ok? or what is she doing? She also is doing this at the moment and I am a bit concerned. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

  2. Hi Zarate, one of my cockatiels does this as well, quite frequently actually. I thought maybe there was a seed husk caught in his throat but I'm not sure either.

I looks pretty bad but it doesn't seem to bother him so I think it's o.k.

Maybe someone will come along and tell us what they are actually doing, when this happens.

    Sorry I couldn't give a great answer. :(

Mine does this regularly i think they are yawning as they have all been to the vets as i started to panic and all is well so i would not worry.

Keep an eye on her see how she goes.

hey guys, thanks for your help. She seems just fine, but she scared me when she did that. Glad to know mine isn't the only one to do this, so it must be pretty typical/normal. Thanks again!!
