Hi everyone! I just have a couple questions. My new kitty has been sneezing, poor thing. Her eyes look clear and her nose looks fine, could it be the new enviroment/smells? Also she has been sleeping a lot, I know cats sleep alot but she kind of worries me. She slept during the whole day yesterday but also slept with me throughout the whole night ans she is sleeping right now on my lap. Could she maybe have a little cold? Or maybe she just sleeps a lot? Other then that she is doing so well. Loves people, and talks to me when I pet her.

    Thanks guys!

Your new kittie was just spayed. She's also been through a lot of stress, first a trip to the vet, major surgery, and now a new environment, complete with dogs. She's TIRED! Let her sleep, so long as everything else is fine.

Her sneezing could be a slight upper respiratory irritation or infection. Keep an eye on it. If you use any products like Carpet Fresh, Fabreeze, etc, that could account for her sneezing. Lots of animals, humans too, have fragrence allergies or sinus/nasal irritations from these products.

Some animals will sneeze simply because they don't care for the way something smells. In that case, she's just going to have to wait it out until your home smells normal to her. After a while, she won't be able to smell whatever it is she doesn't care for. Just like if you work in a chocolate shop, by the end of the day you no longer smell the chocolate. Bummer!
