Is this an Aprils Fool Joke or not?

In today's comics there are two different strips with almost identical themes and wording, Get Fuzzy and Fox Trot. I don't believe the creators are the same or related. If this is not a joke then someone is going to get sued for plagiarism for sure.

HMMM, I am not familiar with th comics, if they are not related, how would they get the same comic theme on the same day? I dont see the april fools in the humor though if 2 different writers got together and did it. I would say plagiarism if one was pusblished and after that the other was published
