Itchy Brie dog-- ideas?

My Brie dog is itching like crazy. I haven't found any fleas or flea dirt but have found these little spots. They kinda look like a hickey or "passion mark" with some crusty stuff in the center. And there's no hair loss. Could she have mites? Charmedagain mentioned mites leave lesions on another post but I don't know what they look like. No one else is itching here...but one of my Mom's poms was digging until we put revolution on her. Mange maybe?? Any ideas?? Thanks!

Honeybears - do these sound like hot spots? Anyone else have any suggestions?

I don't think it really sounds like hot spots. Hot spots are raw skin, red and oozy (if she is scratching), and moist. If they are healing they start to crust over but if she is still itching, they wouldn't be healing. And they get very big, very fast.

If she's itchy she could be having some sort of allergic reaction to something. Have you changed foods? detergent? anything like that?

It could also just be the heat. Indy is always itchy in the heat.

If she keeps itching you could try giving her fish oil supplements. Or the vet could give her a cortizone shot or steroid meds, but I'd try the fish oil stuff. It worked well with Indy.

I agree with Eliza, it doesn sound like hot spots, they are moist oozt sores that grow like crazy without medical treatment. I would take her to the vet and see if they can see what is causing it, it does sound like some sort of bite marks

Well, I'm glad it doesn't sound like hotspots. I does sound like a bug bite of some sort. But why only her, and not Zoey? We do have yellow flies around here...and those bites are rough! Now she has pink lumps on her in odd places. I guess we definately have to go to the vet, huh? I did change their food a few months ago but it was to Natural Balance. I wonder if it's a grass allergy? Thanks for the ideas guys. I'll let you know!
