    the Little Fella

He flies through the air with the greatest of ease...NOT

at night, just before going to bed, I always give the cats one can of Fancy Feast and of course Zeus considers it to be just for himself

As I'm popping the lid I can hear those monster feet come thundering down the hallway and Zeus jumps onto the dining room table and from there leaps over the breakfast bar to the dish.

Things didn't quite work out that way for the Little Fella last night.

I pop open the can and I hear those monster feet come tromping down the hallway much like the sound of a few hundred thundering hooves trampling down the prairie.

Zeus jumps onto the dining room table, his only purpose in life to get to the dish before any other cat can, with a look of pure determination written across his orange face.

His leap to the table was graceful and grand (couldn't have done it better myself). Then as Zeus was nearing the edge of the table, the tablecloth moved and he missed his takeoff.

I witnessed this and I'm still laughing (not at him of course...with him, always with him) he got 1/2 way between the table and the breakfast bar and that's when things went bad he didn't get enough of a tailwind and 1/2 way into the leap he went down. All 4 legs went out to this side as he was sinking to the floor and that look of surprise on his face had me laughing in seconds. I tried not to but the laughter just fell out of my face.

So Zeus quietly wandered into the kitchen where he jumped onto the counter from the safety of the floor and slapped me with his tail - "I meant to do that Mom...wanted to hear you laugh"

Lol! You've just made my day Mary. It's 4am here in norway right now, and I have to go to work for eight hours. I can truly say I didn't think I'd find anything amusing at this hour, but your Zeus story made me laugh  Very well written btw! :y_the_best:

Oh Poor Zeusy!!!! Aren't their little faces funny sometimes???!?!? Ruby gets embarassed a lot too. She's kinda clutzy, and you're right Mary, we laugh WITH them not at them! When she doesn't make a jump or slides on the floor around a corner and bumps into the stove, or when she's squirming around on the couch and she falls off, her eyes become half closed, her tail is flicking around, and the funniest thing is that she walks around snuffling, like "Humph, so what, whatever, drop it!!!!!" The snuffle KILLS me!!!

    We love our little clutzes!

    Peace

i know its so funny when they do that or when they look at you and say 'i ment to do that'. buster was rolling on the arm of the couch once and he fell off and he looked at me like i did it and ignored me for the rest of the day.

Lol! that's too funny  I read somewhere that cats will start grooming themselves when they get emberassed, and that's true. At least Kyrre does that. Whenever he doesn't make a jump or fall off something he'll sit down and lick his paw like nothing happened
