Last Wednesday Keyloli wentin and got spayed. She of course has pulled all of her stitches out but the cut seems to have healed. The area under the cut seems bumpy and maybe swollen. Is it normal for them to have scar tissue that visably shows? We are calling the vet today but I wanted to get some of your opinions here. THanks.

When I had Kitters fixed, she did not pull out the stitches (by some miracle)... but if I remember right, she had a visible scar until the fur grew back and we couldn't see it. I remember that it felt a little bumpy and weird.

I'm sure the vet will tell you that she's ok.

    Good luck!

It's bad that she pulled out her stitches. They are usually to be removed by a vet.

Some redness and swelling is normal... but only some. if it appears to be oozing at all and or causing her discomfort get her tot he vet for some antibotics. Int he meantime diloute peroxide in some water and clean it gently.

most important, make sure she doesnt chew at it!

    good luck.
