Hey I know this isn't anything about birds but if I remember correctly Mike breeds... German Shepards I think. I am getting a German Rottweiler in about a month when it's weaned, and I heard a papered dogs name has to be a cross between it's mother and fathers names. Is this true? Do you get to choose any of the name? If anyone besides Mike knows anything please let me know. Thanks in advance

Hi i am not aware of the pups having to have a pedigree name that is crossed between the other and father.

One of my Dam's pedigree name is Darkstar and her pet name is Mitzy.
Her mothers pedigree name is Duchess Tara of Kent and her pet name is Tina, Her father is Count Dragma, Pet name Max.

The pedigree names are given so that if ever these pups are bred from there parents and grandparents will appear on the pedigree papers of there litters when they are registered.

When the breeder registers the litter he will give the kennel club the pups pedigree names but the new owners give them there pet name.
