Kitten stops using litterbox

We have 2 kittens about 4 mos. old....the male has stopped using the litterbox alot of the time...he will pee and poop whereever he pleases.
This just started about a week ago, up until that time, he has been fine...any suggestions before I go crazy...thanks.

hi debsman....they also have a product called, i think, "cat attract". it is specifically for kitty litter boxes to attract cats to it. good luck...i would also get your kitty checked out by a vet...fecal and check for urinary tract infection. :m27:

one of mine did that too...but i found out bc he likes his box extremely neat..so i must scoop at least 3 times a day..as long as i do that..he goes in the box
