Kitten using bathroom on bed at night

Kitten is apx five weeks. It was a stray. Has been to vet and is in good health. It eats well and is very playful. During the day he will use the litter pan. At night, he will do his thing on the bed. Can someone tell me how I can break this habit.

Have tried placing the pan near the bed hoping he would smell it and go to it. Did not work. Found this morning that he still had wet and messed on the bed.

    Thanks for any help.[/b]

first you need to fully eliminate the smell from the bed - new bedding. You might not be able to smell it but he probably can and assumes it's there for him to use.
I know it would be terrible hard (would be for me) but once you get new bedding you might want to keep him contained in perhaps the bathroom, with his litterbox, during the night until he gets the idea he can't pee on the bed.

We had the same problem with our Cinco kitty. She is now 11 years old. When she was a kitty, she used the bed as her bathroom a few times. The suggestion was to put her in a room overnight with the litter box. It really works.

Lots of love with your kitty!!
