Kitters is sore

Well, I picked up Kitters from the vet last night from being fixed.

The poor thing! She is so sore. She's walking funny and can't get comfortable. After hobbling around for an hour or two last night, she tried to jump on the bed. She fell. I picked her up and she fell asleep for a little while.

Later on, I had my back turned for ONE MINUTE and I see her on top of the 5 foot cat condo. I was told to keep her from climbing if I could (but she is allowed to do stairs and go around the hosue) - well, after I spotted her, she tried to get down. She fell - and didn't land on her feet. I felt awful for her.

We got her back up on the bed and she spent most of the night with us. She later crawled into her cat bed and snoozed until we woke up this morning.

In fear of her getting hurt, we locked her in our guest room (with food, water, litter... etc. of course). I just feel so bad. It doesn't take a genius to see that she's miserable. I hope when I get home from work today that she'll feel a little better.

Thanks, guys. She did better last night. She got up on the bed without falling in the process. She also started to walk more normal. We put her back in the spare room for the day so she can get some peace from the other cats.

I'll be happy when the stitches come out and we can play with her again.

i know, it can be so hard for females after surgery for awhile... but it is very important to keep her from jumping up and climbing as much as possible so she doesnt cause any complications. :?

sounds like she's in good hands...

((i gotta say, 5 foot condo? wow... lucky kitty hehe))

    Thanks vene and Eternal Flame

They got that condo because they kept attacking the furniture! They know how to get what they want.

I guess it's in Kitters' breed to like to climb. She is a little monkey all over the condo. But, since the fall, we've kept her safe and clear from any high surfaces. She did jump on the bed but I can't do much about that. Every room has some sort of surface to jump to!

I'm glad Kitters is starting to feel better. Sounds like you are taking good care of her. I'm sure she will feel herself in no time. :)

I'm glad she's feeling better. Its so hard to see them in pain like that.

Yes, they sure do train us well and tend to get everything they want. And since Kitters has Bengal blood, she's going to be all over the condo and other furniture. LOL's. I wish I had a video cam to record all of Rene's antics and I bet Kitters is the same way.

How is Kitters today? I hope she is feeling better. Can she jump better and get down off of things?

She actually played a little bit last night. But, it's weird... since she's been back from the hospital, she has not wanted to be around us too much. Before the fixing, she was always in the same room as us. Now, I have to actually search for her to make sure she's okay.

I hope it's just part of the healing process.

I'm glad she's feeling a little better. I wouldn't worry too much about her behaviour at the moment. Cats often like to be left alone when they're not feeling 100%. My cats have also been known to hold grudges when I do something bad to them (like taking them for needles or teeth cleanings)!

Aww. That is sad. I'm sure it is probably part of the healing process. She'll probably get perkier when she is not hurting so much. I hope Kitters is feeling better soon.
