Kitties and computers

Everytime I sit at the desk to go on the internet or check my email, Socks or Mittens (whoever is closer) comes running into the room and wants on my lap or wants to lie next to the computer on the desk while I'm surfing.

They just love it. Sometimes I think it is so cute, but sometimes it can get annoying since Socks will put her head on the escape key causing problems, or I have to move the keyboard to one side and have to type sideways.

I guess they like it because they know I will be sitting in one place for awhile and they can get more attention or maybe because they like the sounds of the computer. I think is is probably the first.

Do your cats like when you are on the computer? :?:

 

yes smokey will sit in my lap or lay across the desk or sit right in front of the screen causing me to move her.I dont know why. I think she just likes company

 

I usually use a laptop at home, so Moe is very jealous of sharing her lap. I often have to put the computer on the couch next to me and turn my body sideways to use it, so she can sleep on me. She does like watching the cursor move around on the screen though.

Olive used to walk back and forth across the keyboard and head butt the mouse while I was using our desktop computer. She hated that I had my hands on anything other than her!

 

Milo, Rene, and Pumpkin will walk in front of the screen or back and forth in front of it to get attention. If I'm lucky, they will settle down and plop on my lap.

 

Several of my cats do things like that. I have one that loves the mouse cursor, another who will lay right in front of the monitor where I can't pull the keyboard out. Others just walk back and forth in front of the monitor. It's like they are saying, "Don't look there, look at me!" :lol:

 

Thats probally very true.. hadnt thought of it that way before.

Lex will hop up in my lap (and because he's so huge) usually ends up half in my lap half draped over my shoulder, then he may migrate to over my shoulder over the back of the chair and finally come to rest snuggled in directly behind me.

Course through it all i end up soaked from his 'happy kitty drool'. :mrgreen: :roll:

Razberry will sit under the chair and chew on my toes. if i put him in my lap he wants to play on the desk. can't have that! he cant see the long drop lol

This is one of my kittens favorite spots. If you look closely in the picture you will see another picture on the righthand side of the monitor, of my other cat Wriigley, in almost the exact same position.

 

lol -- love the picture wtpooh. Your kitties definitely look like they love the computer. Is your kitty's tongue out in the picture?

 

That is a white patch she has on her chin But while we are on the subject.....this is when she was about 5 months old. The other cat, Cubby, is 15 years old and has taught my little one to be affectionate. These are my all time favorite pictures.

 

Footsie used to always sit on top of my monitor. But he hasn't done it in a while. I'm not sure if its becuase hes so big now that it might not be as comfy. Or maybe its the warm weather so he doesn't want to be on the hot spot.

He broke a cable modem by drooling on it once. :roll:

Hunter gets up on the computer desk when I am at the computer at home, he follows the cursor, walks on the keyboard, plays with the mouse...and GOSH Forbid I print something he goes BANANNAS!!! LOL...silly kitties

 

That's so true about the printing. I forgot about that. Socks is usually lying right in front of the printer when I want to print. She perks up but doesn't move, though. So there I am trying to guide the paper up behind so it comes out smoothly and trying to keep cat hairs off of it.

Mittens on the other hand gets more excited and leaves when I try to print.
