Lab with Cropped Ears...

Discussion in 'Dogs - all breeds / types' started by Dukesdad, Feb 23, 2005.

All the recent discussions about cropping ears got me wondering what Duke would have looked like had it been the "Standard" to crop a Lab's ears.

I electronically cropped those flaps off and here is the result. Is this a mean looking guard dog or what?

First thing that popped in my mind is Marmaduke. That really changed his looks.

that is way too funny, but I am wondering if you have too much time on your hands? but it makes me curious and want to do a pic of Luther too!

    lil96,
That didn't take me anytime as I do a lot of graphic art work. I once created a bunch of scenes from the Wizard of Oz where I substituded my old Black Lab for Toto the dog. It was a hoot seeing Dorothy carrying an 80 pound Lab around rather that the tiny Terrier.
Send me a photo of Luther and I will see what I can do. Email: jdebessonet@eng.hctx.net

do you still have any of the pics of your old dog as toto? or are they all in movie format? I used to have a program (and now I can't think of the name) where you could edit movies and take still shots from the movie and turn them into normal pics. But since I just switched computers after the move and all, it would take me some time to find pictures, I miss my old computer :( I knew where everything was and it was easy to find, but now I use my husband old laptop, so things like pics and music are on a second hard drive that I have to plug in, it takes forever and I am not sure which hard drive things are on. But once I find it I try to send something to you, thanks a bunch!

    lil96,
I used Snappy software to capture video frames as a digital image then worked from there. I will post a few to share as I know everyone will get a laugh.

I guess I'm the only person who doesn't think it looks funny, but scarily horrid.

You do have a talent with that editing equipment tho :D

Nik, I agree it is indeed horrid, that's my point. Let's all hope each breed association in the US follows the lead of the Boxer group to revise the standard to encourage natural ears and tails for non-working dogs. I can see the need to protect actual working dogs but for family pets and show dogs it's ridiculous.

OOOh! Will you do my doxie's??

I think it would be horrid if it was for real--but funny as an edited picture!
