    okay everybody...good news.

today i took max to my regular vet for an update, and i wanted to discuss the consultation with the specialist, and getting him neutered. my vet is out of town this week, so i saw dr. carey, who max has seen several times. i love her. i love dr. grant too (his regular vet). dr. carey had received the report from the specialist dr. green.
(are you guys still with me???)

okay...so i had not told them that i sought a second opinion yet...i was waiting to go in today. well...dr. carey says "i love dr. green!! he is the only guy i would use on my own cats...he is the best!!" she uses dr. green for consultation on difficult cases. anyway...she thought getting a second opinion was a great idea, and stated that if i had not done that, they probably would have recommended it, and she was very glad i had chosen dr. green who specializes in these problems.

the upshot of all this is...he is going to be neutered in two weeks
he is very healthy despite the intestinal problem...uh hem (diarrhea) and he now weighs 5 lbs 5 oz. and is 5 months old. just two months ago, he weighed only 2 lbs.

she thought that all of dr. greens recommendations were excellent and was going to call him today. she said if he can get max into a university study, it would be great...they do alot of specialized testing and there would probably not be any fee. he may also go to a hypoallergenic diet like xd.

thanks for listening. i will keep you posted!!! :D [/b]

Yahoo! Only 2 more weeks until Max gets the chop. 5 lbs already? Max is getting big. That's great news. If he would only mellow a little bit now so you can get some peace.
With the university study, I hope Max doesn't mind getting poked and prodded. What are the fringe benefits? Does he get free food and toys?

Hi Lynnhaz. :D I'm glad things are falling into place. Hopefully, Max will soon be on his way to recovery, with a good specialist like Dr. Green. I wish max all the best. Keep us posted on everything that's going on.

lol....that's funny vene...."free food and toys"

i think they will just do fecal exams. i havent heard back from dr. green about whether he can get max into the study. i think we are going to try the hypoallergenic diet. what is it called? zd i think, not xd. i think i said xd the other day....

another day in the life of a male bengal...he had to be shut out of my bedroom this am. he is playing in the mornings now in my bed. i just DONT THINK SO....!!!... and when he plays, he plays hard...runnin around like a mad man. i dont even think his feet touch my bed he is moving so fast.

Wow 3 pounds in two months. He must be retaining at least some of his food.

Hope the study goes well. He'll be helping out with research that could help many other cats in the future.
