Med doseage does seem high

but dog also sounds overweight. Being that Min Pins standard at largest is 12" and 12lbs appears that this one is much larger than normal. The med doseage is generally based on dogs weight but this seems like alot. Also, acorns are not good for dogs and could be causing the illness. Pin's are notorious for chewing on and eating just about anything. This is something that needs to be monitored. I would still get the dog back to the vet before dehydration occurs again. How tall is the dog? Even large ones that do not meet standard rarely get over 16" and even then should not exceed approx 16lbs.
