Min Pin Ears: Will they stand uncropped?

My husband and I recently adopted a 7-week old minpin. We DO NOT want to crop her ears; however, we like the look of erect ears. Is there any chance of her ears standing either on their own or with taping methods similar to those used on boston terriers?

Note: If they won't stand with taping or on their own, we still will NOT crop her ears. If they stand, great.. if they don't, we still love her and think she's the cutest dog ever.

Not sure if they'll stand up on their own or not. Have you asked your veterinarian??

I do know that constantly messing with them can cause damage to them and postntially keep them from standing erect.

is not guaranteed. I am a former breeder and this has been somewhat of a misconception many have. I have had litters where some of the siblings natural ears stood while others were floppies. There is one thing that has helped and that is to massage or rub the ears between thumb and forefingers. This helps stimulate blood flow which strengthens the ears. In many cases this has been successful. But if you are asking will they or won't they, there is no way to know. Some vets will try to tape the natural ear and some I have heard of have had success but the odds do not favor it. In addition, there is no guarantee that cropping will ensure erect standing ears either.
