Miniature Doberman do they exist?

sorry I saw the minature pug thread and remembered about this. A few weeks ago while visiting my sister, i noticed her neighbor had gotten a new dog. It was built stocky like a rottweiler, but its face was pointy like a doberman, but it was really short, but still probably weighed 50lbs or so. My sister and her husband said that the neighbor said it was a mini dobey. Does such breed exist? I know there is such thing as a miniature pinscher, but they are tiny, like 10 lbs and are not called 'dobey" they also are not related at all the the doberman pinshcer, even though they are called pinscher.
The neighbor says it has "papers" for it(according to my sis and her husband). I feel sorry for it bc they taped its ears up but instead of standing straight up (not that it makes a difference) but one tilts so far it leans across its head, it is so sad looking. they also leave it tied up to their truck with no water or real shelter, only if he crawls under the truck he gets any shade. I told my sister to call the HS on them.

Could have been a german pinscher. They look like dobies but are smaller (around 40ish lbs).

The dog you saw sounds more like maybe the runt of a Doberman litter, there can be dwarfs thrown in a litter, I know of a couple of German Shepherds but havent seen any others personally, although they are really small....My frineds male Dobie is only just about 60#, he was the runt, undernourished, had parvo etc....Im wondering if the 'Miniature Dobermann' is in the same category as the 'Warlock Dobermann'.....

Hi, that German Pinchser really does look like one.
I was going to say a Mnachester Terrier. My first dog was a MT cross (so the people I bought her off told me). I looked up the breed and had only seen them in books till around a year ago when I met one whilst out walking Floob. It really was a little dobey, with the personallity of a 6 month old springer/lab. Crazy little thing... it was 7 years old

    no mini dobie runt

German Pinscher come at around 18 to 20 inches in height. Even though their coloring is similiar and resemble a Doberman that is quite a size difference in height. The Manchester is even smaller with the Toy coming in the same size as the Miniature Pinscher 10 to 12 inches and standard coming in at around 15 to 16lbs. Again, no where even close to a small Doberman. Odds are that this is just the runt of the litter since there is no Mini Doberman's. Being one who breeds and raises Min Pins I have been hearing this for years.

I saw a guy at the dog park with two Goldens. One was your average-sized Golden and the other had incredibly short legs! He said they were both purebred, from the same litter. And not only that, but the short-legged one was the bigger pup! Strange.

We have people who are breeding giant Malamutes, miniature Mastifs and Giant Dobermans, so why not miniature Dobermans? Anything for a buck. But they are probably not reccognized by any of the major kennel clubs, like AKC or UKC.

And dwarfism is becoming quite a problem in Golden Retrievers. Again, probably due to the anything for a buck phenomena. Unfortunately people don't realize that the type of dwarfism involved is not the same as the achondroplsic dwarfism that accounts for breeds like Dachshunds and Corgis. There are some pretty serious health problems linked to dwarfism in Goldens, Shepherds, and Malamutes.

The couple of GSD's I knew of (in UK years ago) the expected lifespan was 2-3 years.
