Minti is peeing and pooing everywhere!!

I need help!!

My new puddy cat Minti (she is approx 12 weeks I think) is an inside kitty (well I'm hoping she will want to be!). Anyway, she sleeps in the laundry where her food, bed and kitty litter is. No issues with her staying in there at night, she goes to bed in her bed, no crying

She uses the kitty litter. BUT when she is allowed in the rest of the house area (when we are home or not asleep) she pees & poos in certain spots... and one of them is now my bedroom!!
Her other places are in the dining room under the window, in the bathroom on the bathmat, and in the loungeroom under the window.
I don't *think* there are any other places.

I seriously need some help to fix this issue or my DH will kick her out of the house!!

how many litterboxes do you have? How many cats?
If you have other cats perhaps they aren't letting her in the other litterboxes?
If you have only one litterbox you might need to have a couple more set up for her so she doesn't have to go find hers. She's little and, like a little kid, might be waiting until the very last second before trotting off to use her box and not makign it.
So if you have only the one box I would set up a couple more in areas she seems to use. If you have more cats that just her I could see if they are keeping her out of the other boxes.
I was recently fostering a kitten and when we weren't home I kept him in my Germans Shepherd's wire crate (large dog size) he had his own litterbox in there, food/water, beds - quite cozy.
He didn't want to use his "little boy" litterbox, he wanted to use the big kitty litterbox :roll:
That kitten would hold it all night!!!!! When I let him out of the crate in the morning he'd make a mad dash out of the crate, skid around the corner, fly down the hallway, skid around another corner and jump into the big kitty litterbox - letting nothing get in his way.
You could almost hear him going "ahhhhhh finally".
I was always surprised he made it!!! and it was the funniest thing to watch.
I kept him in the crate so the big cats wouldn't hurt him while we were gone (he has rear limb issues so wasn't very coordinated in jumping off furniture so we had to watch him).
Anyway.....he just wanted to use certain litterboxes. So my thought w/your kitten is having more than one around the house for her might make her stop.

 

Hi and welcome to Auspet. I agree with Mary_NH about getting more litter boxes. You'll also need to go and buy some cleaner for the areas she went pee and poo. It's important to get all that smell away, so she doesn't think it's a potty area. They have special cleaners for urine/fecal at pet supply stores. Have you taken her to the vet yet to get her check-up?

Let us know if you have other cats or animals in the house, as this can be a possible cause to her litter box avoidance.
