Do your guys' budgies grind their beaks once in a while?? I must admit its quite a painful sound LOL but as long as its a good thing I can live with it...

My cockatiels tend to grind their beaks a fair bit when I havent put any fresh branches in their cage. I think it must be to wear the beaks down usually putting some wattle branches in the cage so they can chew the leaves off means they grind a bit less. Grit also seems to help.

THis is normal even when they have things like cuttle fish bone and mineral blocks they will usually carry on doing it it helps them get any seeds stuck inside the beak out.

Also making sure they have things like cuttlefish will help keep there beak trimmed and helps reduce the risk of over growing.

I have a cuttlefish bone and a mineral block.. but as far as I know she has not touched them yet...
but as for these branches that still have leaves on them... it is winter here in canada so there are no leaves left... is there a place you can buy them in the store or shouuld I just wait for summer?
