I just moved from Korea to the U.S. with my cat. I am sure the flight was stressful. Now he is living in a much bigger house than the one in Korea with another cat who does not like him. As a result of all of this, he is not eating. It has been 4 days. I am worried. I even bought his favorite treat food and he will not eat that either. He acts excited when i open the pouch and runs over, then he sniifs it and walks away. I know he likes it. Any advice on what to do before I take him to the vet?

he should see a vet now...cats should not go more than 48 hours w/out eating.
Have you checked his mouth to make sure he doesn't have any foreign objects making it physically impossible to eat?
He really should see a vet ASAP

Is he taking any fluids at all? Try giving him some chicken broth mixed with Nutrical if you have it. Dehydration is always a concern for a sick kitty so you may want to try this in the meantime while your cat is waiting for the chance to see a vet. Which he absolutely needs to if he's refusing even his favorite food for 4 days. Not good. Good luck, i hope he gets better soon and please update us on how he is doing.

I agree with Mary and Faeriedust, you should take him to the vet right away. A cat that isn't eating can go downhill fast.

    Good luck :y_the_best:

I took my kitty Oscar to the vet this morning. They gave him an IV to rehydrate him and then I left him there for the holiday weekend. They called today to say they gave him an appetite stimulant and he ate a little bit. They did blood work and it is fine except his kidneys were acting up from lack of food. They say that he should be fine. Thanks for the advice.

He is a weird one. He does not like tuna. He never has.

I'm so glad to hear he is recovering from whatever caused him not to eat :D
