Ny cat vomits once every 3 or 4 days. He is a short haired cat, so it is not fur balls very often. It is usually just food. He does not act sick and he still has an appetite. He has been to vet several times. The doector suggests that maybe it is because he eats too fast. Any ideas? Suggestions?

My cat vomits whenever he eats too fast. He becomes ravenous when I put his food dish down.

I now watch him while he eats and cut down on his portion size and instead give him smaller amounts of wet food a few times a day. I also try to pet him and talk to him while he eats so he relaxes a bit. It seems to work - we only have th occasional throw-up now.

Pumpkin will vomit when she eats too fast or sees other cats outside our windows. She is short haired. She does this just about every other month. Do neighborhood cats roam around your area? Vomiting can be due to stress as well.

My one cat, Tash throws up all the time (every few days on a bad week). He actually had a dental cleaning (since he needed it ) to see if he'd get sick less often.

Well, he still gets sick all the time. There's nothing wrong with him. He just eats fast and everything that comes back up is whole. We free feed our cats and I don't know whey he feels the need to wolf it down, but he does.

I don't have suggestions, though. I just keep plenty of cleaning supplies at home!

recently found a new trick for those kitties who chow and hurl....golf balls in the dry food dish.
Siamese cats are notorious hurkas....eat and barf...the foster group I belong to posts regarding this all the time and the method of golf balls in the food dish (dry food remember) has to make the cat slow down to eat as they have to pick food up around the ever-moving golf ball. And apparently it works quite well :cool_dance:
