I have a ten year old cat. She has not eaten for over a week. She is drinking small amounts of water. We have tried just about everything. She usually eats like a horse, and now she won't even smell the food. Her coat is starting to get a little dull from no food. What can we do?

:m23: and welcome. Please bring her to the vet ASAP. She may have an upper respiratory problem or urinary tract infection which can be treated easily. She may have other problems like blockage which needs immediate attention. Cats that don't eat will go down hill very fast as you are seeing. She probably also needs IV fluids for hydration. Get some Nutragel and place some on her nose and she'll lick it off. It'll give her a boost until she sees her vet. Please keep us posted on her condition.

cats should never go more than 48 hours w/out food - internal organs can start to shut down. Your kitty should be seeing a vet and quickly

buster had a cold and wasn't eatting so we took him to the vets. turns out his tonsils were swollen which probly had something to do with his not eating. hes on some strong meds. and hes started eating again.
