... a live baby Rat GREAT!?

Well my boyfriend had seen Bones playing around our shoes at 2am, he thought he had caught a moth or maybe a fly (our cats very rarely bother with anything bigger than that) so we went to bed, at about 10.30am the next morning I noticed Tango playing around the shoes and he wouldn't come away to eat (strange?) so I had a look and there was a small rat cowering in my shoe, poor thing had been 'played with' for at least 8 1/2 hours, it didn't have a scratch on it, not even a scruffy coat. It looked quite sweet for a rat anyway! But it had to go .... well I'm not the kind of person who can kill things so we had to try and catch it while 5 cats were also trying to get it! so it ran behind the TV, we pulled out the unit, Tango grabs it and lets it go in the middle of the lounge, it ran under a chair, so pulled the chair out, it ran under another chair so pulled that out too (house is now looking like a bombs gone off) eventually got it under a glass and put it outside while the cats weren't looking.

I thought cats were supposed to stop you getting mice and rats! Oh well nevermind :0011:

I have a lifetime's worth of cat and mice stories...so sit back :m14: relax LOL I'll share one for now

My meezers, Missy & Tilly brought me a baby mouse one night (and luckily we haven't had rats...that would have been more than I could handle in the middle of the night) I got out of bed and saw both meezers "hiding" behind a shoe :qm3: watching the poor frightened baby mouse just waiting for it to move. I pounced before they could and put the poor little thing out in our stone wall.

Then there's the story about the mouse doing a Nascar thing around my torso...but I don't steal your post - will save that for another day :m22:

At least they were alive. Milo and Vene left 1 mouse running around one day and part of another (intestines/gallbladder) lying underneath our kitchen table. Yum, yum. The rabbit story is for another day as well.

I'm glad you let the rat live. I would have done the same thing.

    LOL, how sweet...NOT

My kitty Sno one day ran up the back steps to our sliding glass patio doors with a live lizard hanging out of her mouth. She kept scratching the door begging me to let her in. I was like 'NO FREAKING WAY are you bringing that thing in here!"

Funny story Ginger. I can picture it now. I would make a good video.
Lucky rat, making it out alive thanks to you and your boyfriend.

We have had gerbils who escaped from their cages...only to become victims
to our cats...need I say more.
