My cat's face hair is changing

Hello all. I have been lurking for about a week and I now have a question. My cat is a little over a year old siamese mix. Her face looked pretty authentic siamese until about 3 weeks ago. We noticed she was getting gray around her eyes. She had a viral infection in her eyes and we thought the cream we were using was causing it. Now she is getting more and more gray or silver hair on her face. It isn't happening anywhere else, only on her face. Could she be changing colors at this age. BTW, the infection has been gone for a couple of weeks and no other changes, only the hair.

siamese cats can get what is called a "fever coat" after being ill. It's quite common for this to happen after any illness - URI especially. That's most likely what it is. I remember when my sealpoint first got that after catching a URI from the vet's office - scared me and that' how I found Siamese Internet Cat Club, in my research.

Anyway it'll take a few weeks for it to go away. Don't be surprised if the fever coat is there for a month or 2.

Would love to see a picture
