my dog is a chicken! HELP

I have a 2month old male brindle and i have been socilizing him with adults and children everyday after the kids get off school. (we walk to the school to pick them up) and he usually is fine with strangers but the other day i was working on the truck and he ran over to the neighbors house to see what he was doing i guess. and the neighbor didnt notice him until i called for him and as soon as he say the neighbor looking at him his ears went back and his tail between his legs and he ran like ive never seen him run before. i followed him to the door and he was scared badly. what can i do to prevent this from becoming a problem. i want to be able to take him camping with me and fishing and stuff but i cant do that if everytime someone sees him he runs off!

 

Well, i think it is still a puppy and you need to give it more time with people. Show him that there is no harm! 8)
