What is so weird is that she gives birth to one fry and then she strinks in her body and then I don't see any for a day and then the next day I see like 4 more fry and not she is bloated with a giant black gravid spot, so I am expecting more. I am really happy, I finally have fry, but I think some must of been eaten cause I woke up and saw a couple and had to go to work and then when I came back I saw the four and the other fish actually left them alone, which is amazing to me, cause they are always trying to find something to eat.

    Guppy with pinkish gravid spot

searched out your posting - my guppy has that pinkish gravid spot thing goin on too - have her in a nursery within my tank - every day I wait and WAIT! I read somewhere that to keep her there too long will stress her out and I am worried about the fry - she's been in there about 5 days now. Is that gonna be ok? I think she should deliver ANY time now - she has started hiding in the plants floating in the top of the nursery - wish me luck ok?

Your guppy is only giving birth to a few babies a day becuase guppies can retain sperm for i think i read up to about 6 weeks for one birthing good luck. :y_the_best:

Congrats, and she should drop a bit more fry, sounds like she dint drop to many, and more are usualy dropped. Yes they do retain sperm so she can become pregnant a few days after she drops all the babys, then u get more :D :)

And newport, u need to be POSITIVE that ur fish is pregnant before u stick her in a nursery. is her stomach bigger? is there actually males in the tank aswell? what is the male to female ratio?
