my female parakeet is crazy!!!!

    She has the most cute oersonality ...she is always always eating and she plays on her lil ropes with her lil foot she looks so cute...i just had a question... she seems too pick on the two males alot ..even more before bed time she gets crazy and starts squaking....then she wont share food .... :0023: :|

    This is typical female behaviour which will become worse when she is ready to breed since you have 2 males and 1 female in the same cage aslong as she is not drawing blood from either of them let them sort there squabbles out she is showing she is the boss in the group...

    she is the boss...they are afraid of her I have 3 big food bowels and she will come and take over and they will leave...but she is super cute and friendly with my boyfriend she loves him alot me to but him more. when will I know when she is ready to breed? :?:

    When she is ready to breed her cere ( flesh part above the beak) will turn a very dark brown crusty looking colour she will also start flirting with the males.

    Once a nest box is introduced she will either use it or she won't some female birds never lay eggs even though there body says its time to breed.

    All birds should be 2years old or older before allowing them to breed this helps reduce the risk of egg binding and also reduces the risk of her body going into shock with not knowing what is happening.
