    hi all

I just adopted this 7 to 8 week old medium hair domestic kitten, the owner of the place showed me that he has no fur under his chin and his two front legs have tiny lines along the inside where there i can see the skin,,,there is no irritation. But when i look closely where the fur starts i notice very tiny white or yellowish flakes kinda like dandruff.....The owner tells me its coz he is growing and stuff he wont have that much hair on his chest. Can someone plz calify this for me as i had an 8 week old kitten before and i didnt have this problem?!

    Thank you for your time

I've gotten kittens to foster from some pretty rough environments and haven't seen this. I'd seriously have him checked for ringworm or other parasites

u should always get a new kitten or cat checked out once u get them to give yourself piece of mind. :)

But congrats on your new kitten!! pictures please!

deffinately take him to a vet, could be anything... and no, at that age, unless it's the breed, they shouldnt be lacking hair like that.

Someone told me once that plastic food and water bowls can sometimes cause an acne like rash. Could that be it? I've never seen it myself--knock on wood!

Not if the bowls are cleaned daily.

feline acne are bumps and look like acne. I had a cat that used to have a problem with acne...and she didn't have plastic dishes.

Feline acne is usually raised bumps but not a loss of fur
