I just wanted to know which of the following fish i could have in my new 20 gallon when it is fully cycled:
    gourami
    platies
    guppies
    oto
    angel
    oto
    neon tetra

I wanted colorful, active, peaceful fish so any other suggestions will be appreciated.

well, neon tetras and angels dont mix, in my experience the angels always ate my neons...........as for the gourami, it depends on what type it is

Like nameless said dont mix the neons and angel, also dont put a blue gourami and a angel together, aswell not a good mix. You could do a mix of guppies or platties.

K, how about if I had about 4 or 5 neon tetras, 1 dwarf gourami, 1 oto, and a pair of male guppies and platies.

Sounds good to me. You could actually probably add a few more neons I think but Im not 100 percent sure. Neons will be ok in a group that size but you will see alot more natural, and schooling behavior in a group of about 8 - 10. -tl
