Well, spring is finally here. I am always looking for new ways to exercise and have fun with my dogs.

So here is my newest game!

Quad Roller Skating with my pit bulls!
Today I tried it with Penny!!! & Cairo too!

My husband and I let Penny burn off some steam playing fetch with her tennis balls first. This seemed to help me not get pulled as bad.

What a blast *Until I fell over a small pebble with Penny and bloodied up my knee pretty bad LOL.
I don't know how to post pictures but her is my dog Penny's dogster link for you so see a few pics of her and I roller skating today 4/1/07

I have also tried this with some of my other dogs and so far its the best game yet. I also let them pull me but they get wise to that and stop!
I know its dangerous but I LOVE IT!!! I use a 26 foot flexi brand retractable leash and carry treats in my pockets to focus her if need be i.e. squirrel, other dog etc... She also knows basic commands & she understands if I say "Easy" that means slow dog. Or Go that means "Pull me"!

Give it a try!!! :y_the_best:

That does look like fun. Problem I would have is after five years I have finally trained the boys NOT to pull on the leash.

LOL I hear ya, It is sooooooo much fun!
I am an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator and obedience instructor myself, so as you can imagine, pulling is not on my list of acceptable behaviors for my dogs.

But this is different, the dogs are learning the difference and all you have to do is give a different command like "Go" and use a different leash (I have been using the 26 ft. retractable leash so I can get pulled and give them some room to get out of my way).
The great news is its amazing how much the dogs enjoy doing this and its great exercise for both!
Then the dogs come in the house all tired and calm!!!
    Thats what I like best!!!

    Looks like fun Sue!
I think I might die if I tried that with Annie...it would be a new land speed record!
I used to do that with my German Shepherd. I bloodied my knee as well with him. I hit a patch of gravel at the bottom of a hill...ouch..I still have scars.

LOL Actually, its TONS OF FUN!!! If you are not afraid of getting hurt!
Sara, & Katie, I think you would both LOVE IT!! AND BE GREAT AT IT!!!

Today, I got brave and went to the local shelter and took out two shelter dogs.
One was a lab/pointer mix and the other was a border collie.
The border collie was scared of my skates and just hid eventually she did go with me. She was fine!!!
But, the lab/pointer mix landed me in a friggin huge puddle of MUD! HE PULLED ME TO CHINA AND BACK!!! Have to say I had fun with him and hopefully, he went back in tired and slept!!!
The only thing I did not think of is that my dogs know MY COMMANDS!!!
Obviously, the shelter dogs don't. Well, when I started saying my own commands to the shelter dogs i.e. lets go meaning follow me, I was still going STRAIGHT AHEAD LOL!!!
Then when I said "Easy" Well what does easy mean??? Go into a tree???
    LOL
At least this time I was smart enough to wear knee protoctors!!!
But, its the best fun I have had with my dogs in years!!!
