So Saturday around 12:30pm one of my show heifers had her very first calf! its was a healthy 56lb baby bull. Sadly Sunday afternoon the cow prolapesed and hemoraged and died.

So now i've got baby Chip added to my "pack"!!!

he thinks he's a dog since I have him in one of the dog kennels and he's next to them all the time. LOL.... Smokey isn't quite sure what the deal is, but he could care less.
Red dog on the otherhand thinks he needs to chase it but can't figure out how to get to it throught the kennel.

Sassy my mare has adopted him, and tries to nurse him, only she's dry! lol.. So he gets bottle fed three times a day and being up my butt the rest of the day. And Sassy is steadyily following behind!!!

LOL, congrats on your new baby.

I guess any animal can think their a dog if they're raised around them. My dad's friend had a turkey that thought she was a dog. The funniest thing I've ever seen. She was raised around Border collies and would try to herd the ducks. If you were petting one of the dogs she would lay down beside it so you could pet her too.

I saw a show once on a calf that was raise by a rotti. It was pretty neat to watch. The calf (now a cow) still thinks she's the Rotti's puppy and treats her calf like a dog would treat their puppies.

    LOL..yeah. he's a stinker.

Yesterday while trying to fix his bottles (yeah, he drinks 3 quarts per feeding!!!) He came up behing me and got between my legs, it ended up with me falling backwards and spilling that nasty smelling sticky milk all over me!! Ugh..

he latched on to Garfields tail this morning and got a good swat on the nose!!! LOL....

    Congrats, Sams! Got photos? :)

Here are my new....errrr, dogs....well, not really: http://home.everestkc.net/tnewman/birds/birds.htm

You can click on each bird photo to see more images. I have some better pictures of the doves that I haven't posted yet. If you click on any of the movies or audio links, be patient as they load because it seems like nothing is happening but it is. I just tossed the pages up and didn't have time for good design or loader bars or anything.
