my really bizarre Missy event

10 years ago this month I adopted missy from a senior citizen who wanted a puppy more than she wanted Missy :x , but was my gain as she was/is my first Siamese cat and I adore the breed. Missy was then nearlly 2 years old.
I was home sick with a virus from the underworld, laying on the sofa covered with layers of blankets, with my little Missy tucked up to my belly, and the phone rang. I wasn't going to answer it. I was just going to lay there and curse the underworld germs. Figured better of it and answered the phone (thing never rings when I feel well).
On the other end was a little old lady asking me about where she could get a Siamese kitten. She'd called the vet and they gave her my name/number. I explained how rescue works, she needed to do an application, get approved and blah blah blah.
She goes on to tell me about all the Siamese cats she'd had and then said "I miss my last Siamese cat I gave away 10 years ago. I miss Missy"
I jumped off that sofa in a flash and yelled into the phone "I ADOPTED HER AND YOU CAN'T HAVE HER BACK"
was so strange...the minute that woman said that I knew she was the woman who I got Missy from.
She didnt' want Missy back but was thrilled to hear she's still alive and with me and I emailed her a bunch of pictures. And she still has the dog.

That's a funny story. I can't believe she gave up her cat though. Can she really be trusted to adopt another one?

How strange :? I'm glad she didn't want to take Missy from you though :)
