    Red Tail

    Hi
I am new to the tropical fish scene and have just bought a 55 gallon tank. I have already got a few fish, but would like to get a Red Tail Shark. When I went to buy one the shop assitant told me that they are quite aggresive and would not be good in a community. I was just wondering if anybody else has any problems?

If you have any other suggestions on starting out, that would be cool too. I am in need of all the help I can get.

    Cheers.

    Hi tyro,
Welcome to Auspet. What the shop assistant told you is correct. Redtail sharks are aggressive. It would help us to know what type of fish you already have in the tank, and what type of fish you are interested in. Also you stated that you just bought a 55 gallon tank. Has the tank already cycled? Again, welcome to the hobby and to Auspet.

    I currently have the following

    10x Glowlite Tetras
    4x Dwarf Neon Rainbow
    2x Three Spot Gourami
    3x Clown Loaches
    2x SailFin Mollies

I am not quite sure what cycling is exactly, I was advised to leave the tank for 1 week before adding any fish and then only add a couple at a time. Does that sound ok?

Yeah they do, but I really don't like the way they look. Other cleaners are probaly faster. Does anyone know any other cold water cleaners?
