HI everyone, I posted a message a couple of weeks ago about my cat not eating...
Well, it ended up that he had kidney failure, and after doing all I could for him, he did a miraculous turn around and was eating and happy, and then all of a sudden he got really aggressive with me and our dog, attacking us...a result of him being scared and going blind...I sadly had to put him to rest last night and am a little upset and looking for words of wisdom to help me through this time...
I know that it was the right thing to do, I just am sad, I miss him already, he was my buddy and my friend and only wanted me to love him...if you have any words to help please feel free to drop me a line, I would appreciate it.
    Thanks
Tigger...may he rest in peace and know I loved him completely!

I'm really sorry, Mary-Ellen. He is no longer suffering and that's got to be some consolation for you. Eventually you will be able to smile instead of cry when you think of Tigger - it just takes time. Hang in there.

oh i am soooo very sorry to hear about tigger. i know how painful it is. in march of this year i lost my otis cat...he was almost twenty...and i swear i dont think i loved anything more than him. and i cried and cried. sobbing...really...more than just crying.

then...two weeks later...i got a kitten named max. and that was the beginning of my healing and getting back to normal. he is such a joy to be around. and still is. i think its a God thing...i adopted two more after that. i just absolutely love all of them.

but...i know the sadness and the loss. you will get good support here. have you read rainbow bridge? i couldnt read it at first. still makes me cry. but i cry only because i loved him sooo much.

    take care...

I know, thank you, it's just tough, I got up this morning and didn't have to feed him, I can see his paw prints around his litter and I don't have the heart to clean it up yet, I see his christmas toys that the kids bought him and it's tough you know. I loved him.
    Thanks for your words.
I know I will be able to smile soon, but right now crying seems like the only thing to do.
    Thanks again.

    so sorry about tigger

 I'm so sorry to hear about Tigger. I know its hard to make such difficult decision having to put him to sleep. At least you know he is in peace now and no longer suffering. With the love and care you showered him, I’m sure he knows you loved him.
May Tigger rest in peace. And take care of yourself.

Thank you for your kind words, I know that things will get easier, I am just being a big baby I am sure...now I have to worry about the dog, that keeps looking at the door wondering where her brother is....how do you explain it to the dog? LOL.
I keep expecting to look up and see my friend Tiggy looking at me and laying on my keyboard, and then I realize he'll never be here again.

I know it will get easier, but I miss him...a lot.

I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. I know how you're feeling, I lost one of my fluffy treasures on the 30th December after 12 and a half years with him.

It is a difficult time to get through, even when you know you've done the kindest thing you still miss them like crazy.

    I send hugs,

    Ginny

I am so sorry for the loss of Tiggy. It's the circle of life and it's terribly hard to lose a loved one. I too lost a cat to kidney failure and another to hit-and-run. I think of them often- especially the happy memories we shared together. There has been many kitty deaths on our forum recently and my heart goes out to all of you. *HUGS*

I am so sorry for the loss of your kitty.
It's tough to lose one of our little furkids, they make such a special place in our hearts, lives and families.

Your tribute was beautiful Lynn, thanks for everyone's kind words...I posted a tribute to Tigger at the Rainbow Bridge website...it helps, but I think it helps most to know that people know how you feel and that they are here to comfort you and help you... :D
    Thanks everyone.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your kittie. It is hard to lose a loving pet.
    Time will heal.

When we had to put our kitty Smokey down it was very sad but after his passing I had this funny warm feeling come over me that said he wasn't in pain anymore and was in a better place.

    Take care.

I'm very sorry for your loss. One thing I did was I took 2 pics of my 2 cats that I had to put down last year and taped them to my PC monitor, and I have one of their pics scanned as my desktop background..to see these always remind me that they were a blessed part of my life for many years.

That's a great idea Disneeworld - one I hadn't thought of! I'm not ready yet to have one of my cats on my desktop who recently passed away, but when I do I have THE most cute photo of him! He had lost all but one tooth, so always had his tongue hanging out .. and on the photo he is looking at me like I am so inferior!! The only way some of our neighbours could tell the 2 ginger toms apart around here was because mine had his dangling pink tongue!

Anyway, that was a long way to say thanks for the idea. He'll be my wallpaper on my desktop before long!
